Daily food shopping for the freshest ingredients is still common and adds to Paris' charm. With over 50 roaming outdoor markets in Paris, you can stroll the stalls of fresh fruit, vegetables, poultry, cheese, seafood, clothes, bric-a-brac and more every day of the week, if you know when and where to look.
So, if you would like the local experience of shopping for fresh supplies for a picnic or want to cook for yourself while on vacation, let us take you to a neighborhood market to find the best ingredients and prices or simply to ogle the beautiful floral and fruit arrangements and feel the silk scarves. On the half-day and full-day tours, we will also visit local specialty shops (bakeries, cheese shops, candy stores, and more...) We’ll translate and help you ask questions, learn about new ingredients, or find your sizes.
This is also an ideal excursion for new arrivals in Paris who haven’t perfected their French yet and would like some help diving in their local market and learning essential vocabulary.
There is a lunch break during the full-day tour, and guides will ensure winter tours include indoor breaks.
